Edenville’s coal wash plant ready to be transported to Rukwa
JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – The coal wash plant for use at Aim-listed Edenville Energy’s Tanzania-based Rukwa coal mine has been cleared through Tanzanian customs and is being readied for transport to site.
The wash plant is expected to arrive on site during the second half of July.
Following the completion of the required compensation to local farmers, earthworks are now starting for the plant site, along with the clearing of the Stage 1 pit area.
The newly bought Volvo excavator is also in transit to the site.
The company, meanwhile, said in a statement on Wednesday that substantial interest has been shown from prospective coal buyers.
“Detailed discussions have been held with several groups wishing to take delivery of washed coal once produced.”
The Rukwa project comprises three deposits with a resource of about 173-million tonnes.
Edenville eventually plans to build a 120 MW to 135 MW power plant at Rukwa.
